d.i.y. origami hearts

I found this cute video as a quick-fix in case you're in need of a few easy to make love notes to spread your love around tomorrow, Valentine's day.

The hearts have a message and you can easily make a whole lot to leave around the house or take it to work/school and share the loveliness around and maybe...bring a smile to someone's face!

Check the video {below} and tutorial provided by 'the connection we share' blog and follow the link to download the FREE printable papers used in the video.

Have fun and a great day tomorrow!

Love,
Pippa

advent calendar by zoe de las cases

December is here and time to get started on finding Christmas goodies on your advent calendar.

Some of us are more likely to ditch the high-street store fashions especially at this time of year, and so, a d.i.y. handmade Christmas sounds so much more fun, eco-friendly and cozy.

I have found this super cute d.i.y. advent calendar on Zoe de Las Cases facebook page {link here}, and decided it was my favourite for this year - and so, here to share it with you.

It has a vintage look with a modern 'twist', very much the trade look of Zoe de Las Cases that I so love!

If you want to try it, take a peek and/or visit the link for the original {here}.

what you need:

method:

-Print 3 papers of A4 calendar {images below}

visit Zoe de Las Cases facebook page for original A4 sizes

-Cut the boxes
-Open matchboxes and cut the outside retaining half

-Paste each picture on each half of matchbox
-Paste windows (images) on the outside of the box of small drawers

-Put your gifts and candy inside boxes

-Place a small piece of double-sided (1 cm) on the edge of the box where the window will come close

-Paste all the boxes together using glue

tutorial watermelon tote bag

Today's d.i.y. is a very fresh tutorial for a super summery watermelon tote bag.
You may find the full tutorial on the lovely French blog Madame Citron {here}.

Watermelon is definitely the fruit that most defines summer holidays, I think.

This fascinating fruit will so compliment any plain tote bag in need of a summer refreshment!

You will only need::
fabric dye {red and green} || a cotton tote || protection gloves || a recipient or tub ||
salt {check the fabric dye instructions}

Start by filling the tub with hot water, and add the red dye according to the box instructions.

Soak 3/4 of the bag in the red liquid for 20 minutes. The handles must be kept out of the dye.

Rinse with cold water together.

Then repeat the process with the green dye. This time, dip the handles in the green. Leave for 20 minutes and rinse.

Once all washed, let it dry, and enjoy the watermelon effect!!

Et voila!!

d.i.y. handprinted napkins

Hello my good friends, and Happy Friday!

This morning I have the most amazing d.i.y. for you:: home printed napkins by mamas kram.

I just love, love, love these - they are easy to make but, most of all, the whole look is just up my street {wouldn't they look good in my kitchen? I think the answer is YES!!}

The secret is really simple: fabric paint. Then the rest is left to the imagination.

Mamas Kram used adhesive tape for the striped and squares design, a cork for the dotted design, and a homemade foam stamp for the chevron and triangles.

It looks great, doens't it?!

Check the whole tutorial and plenty more photos from the Mamas Kram blog, who had this amazing idea {and while you're there, leave a lovely comment and tell them pepper+buttons sent you!}

revamp your flats

Spring is definitely here, and with it comes the annual ritual of 'wrapping up' your bulky winter clothes with your much lighter {and brighter} spring/summer fashions which have been put away for hibernation.

Let's face it, unless you're on a Hollywood budget - and that way, you will most likely have all the pleasure to shop for a whole new wardrobe - most mortals will indulge in a few newer pieces and trends, and mostly will try to 'blend' those in with last year's {hmm...or even many years ago!} garments and footwear.

So if your used and boring flats {or maybe your new boring flats} are no longer fit for your fashionable self here's a very simple, easy and cheap way to revamp them and give them that 'humpf' you know you deserve!

A whole new look just by adding a very trendy gold tip to your shoe!

See the full tutorial over at Brit+Co. blog {here}.

Have a great weekend with a new spring in your step!

d.i.y. chocolate molds

Apparently you can turn anything into a chocolate mold using just brown sugar - How clever!

This is so worth trying...if it's to transform a whole 'anything' into chocolate, then that'll be quite fine by me.

wonder woman free printable

international women's day dia internacional da mulher free printable greeting card

view full image {here}

Today is International Woman's Day and to celebrate it in style I am sharing with you this FREE printable - dedicated to all of you super women who are in 'disguise' all year round.

You can just download it / print it and keep it for yourself as a reminder of the extra especial human being you are...or maybe even offer it to the great woman next to you!

We are celebrating all the strong women; all those who struggle with a disease; those who give their 'all' in their personal lives and professionally; those who don't cry in front of their children, who have to pick up themselves to stand and keep going.

To the women who have ever lost their job, searched for and found a new one; those with more than one job; those who are single mums; to the working mums, all those who juggle work and home and family; those who have the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Those who are hard on themselves, the ones who are envied and the ones who aren't; those who go through the most challenging situations, who have faced divorce or take care of a special someone...and still celebrate life and love...every single day!

To those who are beautiful, strong, smart, busy, funny, loved.
The real life wonder women who have no bullet-proof wrist cuffs nor golden lassos {or a cool crown}.
The hardworking, tough and always striving to be perfect {I tell you, you are all that!}

Those super humans who are truly inspiring to others.

Wonder Woman has got nothing on you!!

Enjoy your day.

{for the kiddos in your life}

Valentine's day arrives and you are/have been filled with 'heart' shaped ideas for your beau...but what about the real loves of your life, the kiddos?!

How about making the little one's day special also, just by leaving a heart paper trail around the house, maybe with a little treat at the end.

Knowing children, the end treat will be nothing compared to the fun and thrill of the trail....it's worth trying, don't you think?!

Enjoy the rest of your Valentine's day.
I'll be sharing mine with you soon too!

Love,

How about this fun idea if you ever want to send a special gift to those grandparents who live out of town, or even if mum/dad live far away?
