kids rooms with wood
: decor
Today's decor tips and inspiration use natural materials, such as rattan and wood, as key elements for beautiful and relaxed looks in our children's bedrooms.
The hues and textures are easily complimented with whites and neutral colours. They are also a great base to add splashes of colour, keeping the environment always fun and very cozy.
Even though the 'lumberjack' look is still very much in vogue, both in decor as in fashion, these natural and organic trends are always classics and will endure and grow with your child's growth too. They can be easily adapted - and even, upcycled!

kids rooms in shades of grey
: decor
Today's decor inspiration for our children's rooms is the many shades of the colour grey.
From the darker greys to the lightest, it is the perfect base for a room, giving it a feel for a more scandinavian look - keeping it simple, stylish and oh so lovely!
One of the neutral (basic) colours, it is far from being boring. It is the best 'canvas' colour to add pattern to, with wallpapers and prints, and splashes of other brighter colours.
Take a look at these and get inspired!

soft and calm
: decor
Pastels and neutral colours are always a safe bet when wanting to design a nice, cool and relaxed environment. And that is also very true to children's rooms.
As beauty doesn't ask for attention, it is simplicity the hardest look to attain, since it can be oh so easy to overdress, over accessorize and over think it!
Once you get the look right, these rooms can take which ever your personally swings, with a little colour and playing with textures, being it on a more eclectic vintage sway or sleek and modern one. Take a look at these examples for inspiration...I hope you like them!

kid's rooms :: black is back
: decor
I'm sure, the past few days, you have been hit with the fact that the summer holidays are almost over and it's time to immerse yourself in back-to-school mode. Maybe the time on your hands of getting back to 'normality' and a life without kids 24/7 has given you thoughts for re-decorating...now they're a year older, or getting into 'big' school is a reason to change their bedroom look to suit their new found 'grown' confidence.
This week, I have been taking a look at a few 'looks' for kid's rooms and found these great ideas using black.
It isn't a first choice colour when talking about children's rooms (or you may not even consider it in any other room at all, for that matter!)...but just take a look how great these are, and how they so totally work.
The colour is played down blissfully with lots of white and an almost scandinavian simplicity and charm. You can add pops of colour for vibrance...or not. I hope you feel trully inspired by them!
