This month our FREE desktop calendar is inspired by spring - and since spring seems to have been asleep for a while {and still is} I have entitled it 'to awake spring'!

This is the first month our calendar is not only based on my designs but a collaboration with another creative person, in this case my friend and super talented photographer Nicola Johnson. If you would like to visit her website with examples of her superb work please follow the link {here}.

So I leave you the challenge, if you are {or know of} a photographer and would like to collaborate too, at a later date, please get in touch!

january 2014 free desktop calendar {paper cranes}

January of 2014 comes in the shape of Japanese paper cranes or origami Orizuru.
These wonderful creatures, with which I have been fascinated for some years, were just one of the little things I've learnt how to make right before 2013 ended.

They are a symbol of happiness and prosperity, of eternal good luck. Some believe that having them around the house is a most benevolent charm.

So I think that's a most appropriate way to start the year, wishing you {and all of us} the best of the bestest of luck for all the year!

Though, if you want an alternative to the design above, I also made another free January calendar for your consideration.

december 2013 free desktop calendar

{...and a year in calendars!}


And so we are here, at the start of the last month of the year. And with it, the last free desktop calendar of this year too.

I chosen a Christmas theme with a variant of a choice of two colours...so you only have to pick your favourite and which will adorn your computer screen for the month.

I hope you like them!

We have had a truly wonderful ride, it has been amazing for me to create all these calendars to share with you.

Although, I missed the very first month of the year, and so we were without our free calendar for January 2013, I soon picked up pace with all the others, and in some cases, even designed two different ones for the same month so you could have a choice!

Here they all are now, in retrospective!

My personal favourites were March and April....and maybe one of the Novembers too!

advent calendar by zoe de las cases

December is here and time to get started on finding Christmas goodies on your advent calendar.

Some of us are more likely to ditch the high-street store fashions especially at this time of year, and so, a d.i.y. handmade Christmas sounds so much more fun, eco-friendly and cozy.

I have found this super cute d.i.y. advent calendar on Zoe de Las Cases facebook page {link here}, and decided it was my favourite for this year - and so, here to share it with you.

It has a vintage look with a modern 'twist', very much the trade look of Zoe de Las Cases that I so love!

-Print 3 papers of A4 calendar {images below}

-Cut the boxes

-Open matchboxes and cut the outside retaining half

-Paste each picture on each half of matchbox

-Paste windows (images) on the outside of the box of small drawers

-Put your gifts and candy inside boxes

 

-Place a small piece of double-sided (1 cm) on the edge of the box where the window will come close

-Paste all the boxes together using glue

-Once assembled boxes, strengthen the back with a plate of foam board

Here they are, the new free desktop calendars for the new month of November.

I know the weather here is starting to get chilly, the warm woolly clothes have come out of the closet and the duvet covers are set on top of the bed...but for some of you, my friends in other hemispheres, you are just starting to get into your warmest season!

For that reason I couldn't design a November calendar with a bleak theme {as some would expect}, since it is the bleakness all I feel to portrait. Oh no! this time, as it has become customary, I have designed TWO very different calendars on a rather more cheerful note...to welcome winter {or summer!} in great spirits.

So, I hope you like them, and get picking your favourite!
