1000 cranes for 1000 strangers : random acts of love

Need a little inspiration?
Maybe, a little something to lighten your day...random acts of kindness, random acts of love.

Beautiful to watch and a great idea to make.

Watch the video by Magical Daydream blog, and follow the link for the whole explanation behind the idea.
I hope you like it...I hope it gets a little smile on your face.

Have a great Friday!

"My paper cranes might mean nothing to some. I don’t expect everyone to understand and appreciate my gift to him or her. But if I just touched the lives of a few, of just one, if I just made someone's day a little bit better, my mission was successful."

noiserv :: a little world music video

A beautiful music video to share with you today, from the Portuguese Noiserv.

A Lilliputian universe with a magical tune, seen through one of the most creative visual styles - the tilt-shift...well, I may confess I find it hard to get tired of it!

The images get us 'confused' with the mix of real Portuguese landscapes and the famous 'Portugal dos Pequenitos', a pint-sized replica world of little villages and parallel worlds, at the scale of children {though adults love it too!}.

I hope you love the video and music as much as I do!

Have a great weekend!!

daughter :: get lucky

Get Lucky by Daft Punk interpreted by Elena Tonra of Daughter, one of the most enchanting voices that can ever brighten my Friday.

It's true that covers have the power to spoil the original, especially if you already have a certain affinity with said original - though this is not at all the case.

I do like the Daft Punk version {one of those tunes that will definitely shoots me on the dance floor like a rocket, anyday, anytime} but this, just takes it to a new and totally different level.

So magical!

I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great weekend!

travis :: moving

This amazing animated music video, for 'Moving' by Travis, was filmed using the band's breath in freezing temperatures.

The directing duo Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth of Wriggles & Robins shot at below freezing temperatures and filmed projected animations that could only be seen when the four band members would breath through the cold air.

Although subtle, there are some amazing sequences that really make this worth watching all the way through.

Have a great weekend!

chicken or the egg

Today's Friday video, to take us off to a great weekend, is a fun love story.

"Chicken or the Egg" is about a pig who has an EGGdiction to eating eggs. But when he falls in love with the hottest chicken in town, he must choose what comes first... the Chicken or the Egg.

A student animated short film by Christine Kim and Elaine Wu from Ringling College of Art and Design.

I hope you like it.

Have a great weekend!

damien rice :: the blower's daughter

If you ever spoke Portuguese or ever heard the Brasilian singer-songwriter Seu Jorge you must have loved his version of this tune 'E' isso ai'. No, this is not it...this is the beautiful and equally deep and soft and emotional original by Damien Rice - also part of the soundtrack of the film 'Closer', if you remember.

I hope you enjoy it!

Have a great weekend!

cinema paradiso

Who has never seen 'Cinema Paradiso'?

This must be of the most memorable moments in cinema history...well, it should be - at least it is, in my opinion!

This 1988 Italian drama has music by Ennio Morricone, and one of his most moving pieces too.

The story behind this short, which is one of last moments of the film {spoiler alert is following!} is when Salvatore returns to Rome. We get to see the little boy now as a man and returning home. He watches a film reel and discovers that it is a very special montage containing all the romantic scenes that the priest once ordered to be cut from movies played at the cinema. Alfredo spliced all the sequences together to form a single film...and this is the moment this film full of hot scenes, love sequences and censured kisses is watched.

Just magical!

Have a great weekend!

For a perfect end to this week, I am sharing with you this delightful film - a view of the city with such beauty and elegance. Simplicity and fresh ideas are always the best of marriages.

life cycle of a drop of water

This creative video depicts the revolutionary nature of the life cycle of a droplet of water and it's cyclical journey.

I found it amazing for the media used and especially the paper art. It has so much skill.

This would definitely be a different way to teach the children about the revolutionary cycle of water and how it all comes to life, the processes involved, the relationship with nature and how we get water on the tap at home.

I hope you enjoy it too!

marina meets ulay : love beyond time

If you ever loved and lost, you should most definitely watch this {you'll understand why}.

This is one of the most emotionally powerful things I have seen in a while, I highly recommend it, though it comes with a warning - it will make you cry!

Performance artist Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 1970s, performing art out of the van they lived in.

When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, meeting for one last time in the middle and never seeing each other again.

At her 2010 Museum of Modern Art retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay, her former lover, arrived without her knowing and this is what happened. Once again they meet.

Love is eternal, it goes beyong the barriers of time... and so much can be said without any words at all.

Really moving, don't you think?

Have a great weekend...and, please, love!

stay curious

As usual on a Friday evening I love to share a little music/video with you.

This week, and as we have been spreading love from back to front - I would like you to see this most beautiful and inspirational film!

The project continuecurioso {stay curious} is a web series that tells the stories of people who brake free from more 'conventional' lifestyles and go after chasing their dreams.

Stories of inspiration, of bravery, of following your dreams and finding happiness in a contemporary society.

This film is of Marilia Pedroso, the happiest photograher in town.

I hope you enjoy it and have a nice weekend!
