This week I will be making this Pear Cake recipe which I found on Moweilicious' Christmas magazine issue.
I remember my Mum making a 'sort of ' upside down Pear cake but not quite like this, it was a much simpler/straight-forward home recipe without the sophistication of the golden syrup and ginger. 
It is supposed to be 'luscious, moist and satisfying' and a perfect companion to a cup of tea... no more reasons needed, wouldn't you say?!
