Advent Calendar with a Twist {DIY}

December has been running towards us {quite quickly} and it has finally caught us up.
So if you haven’t yet had time to get an advent calendar here’s a clever and simple idea for this weekend: the kids will love it! ...Tis' the time to get counting down the days till the big day with this ‘upcycled’ tin can calendar.

one :: Get the clean cans and make sure they’re safe from sharp edges.

two :: Paint the cans and print out numbers to stick on {or if you’re feeling more artistic, you can outline numbers and paint them too}.

three :: Cover the tops with brightly coloured tissue paper and secure with equally colourful elastic bands/ribbons.
four :: Fill with sweets, chocolates, little toys or handwritten messages and jokes.

five :: enjoy the smiles and excitement as the children will put the hand through the tissue paper and find their treat!

Alternatively, if this is not the advent calendar for you, you can make this one, from our previous post.
