{tutorial} Shadow Boxes

Today’s interior decor trend is in two parts. The first is this very simple ‘how-to’ and the second {which you can find here} is a collection of examples in use in the most important room of the house: the nursery!

Shadow boxes are back in fashion, they add colour to the whole room, add interest to little eyes and minds, and they’re great as storage to all those tiny toys that never seem to have a place to live.
Besides, they're such a welcome touch of whimsy, I find!

Though the best thing about them is: they’re so easy amd quick to make as 1-2-3!

ONE:: Find a box of your choice {any will do; a good compartmented one disguised as a cutlery tidy or even a simple and beautiful wooden wine box; or maybe you're lucky enough to have an original 50's one!}
TWO:: Give it a lick of paint {sides only}
THREE:: Add your favourite wrapping paper or wallpaper sample to the back….and voilá!
