Wing Chair is back!

Today’s interior post is dedicated to the comfortable, robust and selfish world of the high back chair. Also known as wing chair or Queen Anne chair, but whatever the name they have been magically time-transported to the current modern world and magically revamped with the help of contemporary fabrics, garish colours and ostentatious patterns.
Although I think these smart and comfy friends never actually went away entirely, they always remained quiet in nursery’s corners and children rooms as a silenced and shielding nanny - watching over us. And now suddenly {and oh how I glad I am of it!} they came out of seclusion and made their way into the rest of the house, into ‘plain view’ in our living rooms as our end-of-day treat or the special guest; at your cosmopolitan office desk; or pride of place at your glamorous dining table.

I am particularly in love with the monochrome ones, especially if they’re striped or chevron {don’t blame me!} and have already managed to squeeze one through the door and into my living room – although it has been covered with a blanket since the first day whilst we decorate the rest of the room and there are still pre-school children present {little price to pay for a little luxury}!

  1. I love love love wingbacks! I saw one at John Lewis that was chartreuse velvet. With a matching ottoman. To say I fell in love was a complete understatement...
